Welcome back to my blog! As i have only done one post before this one, i wouldn’t exactly call myself a blogger just yet. There are various different reasons why I’ve always wanted to start a blog but for the sake of this post I’ve narrowed it down to just 5 reasons. Enjoy!

1// Social Media

I have always loved social media and it has most definitely changed my life since using it. Social media has changed society as we know it. We now have the ability to connect with people from all over the world, it’s pretty crazy stuff. There are endless possibilities when it comes to social media and for many people, using social media has become a job. It is my dream to have a large following on Social Media, as it is most peoples, however i don’t want  a large following for the money or the fame, i want a large following because using social media is what i love doing, and it would be perfect to make a career out of it in some way, shape or form.

2// Female Dominated

Without a doubt the blogging community is female dominated. And by putting this as one of my reasons i’m not saying that it is a bad thing, i’m saying that there aren’t that many male bloggers out there compared to female bloggers. I admit, i felt a little discouraged to start a blog because i though that i’d be one of the very few male bloggers and i’d get judged because blogging not really classed as a “normal” thing for a boy to do. I want to become a blogger so that i can hopefully join the current male bloggers in encouraging more males to create blogs. I am 100% certain that there are many many boys out there who are in the same position i was in. “Do i start a blog?” “Is it stupid?” “Are people going to judge me?” but none of these questions even matter. Do what makes you happy and don’t let people discourage you. Honestly, what I’ve learnt during the small amount of time of joining the blogging community, is that everyone is super supportive of one another.

3// Meeting New People

The blogging community is huge. There are tonnes of bloggers who are all in the same boat as me, wanting to start a blog but still unsure on how do to so, what to blog about etc and then there’s people who are extremely good bloggers, who know what they’re doing, their blogs are very professional looking, their posts are all super amazing to read. My point is that it doesn’t matter what stage of blogging you’re at, you will always end up meeting somebody new. I have had so many good bloggers dm me, tweet me, leave me comments etc giving me feedback on my blog. I have already made quite a few friends in the blogging community and i hope to make many more.

4// Self Improvement

I feel like a blog is a place where you can come to write down your thoughts/feelings and simply just reflect on yourself, which is really beneficial for me because i am always looking for ways to improve myself. One of the main improvements i want to make is my style of writing, if you haven’t already realized, my style of writing is terrible. I am currently studying English Literature at a-level and i am determined to improve my quality of writing and i truly believe that blogging is going to hugely benefit me in the long run.

Photography has always been one of my favourite hobbies, i just love it when i take the perfect picture. Posting photos on a blog will be much better than posting them on instagram because i think that with a blog you can tell the stories of the picture or even use the pictures to back up certain points of the stories. I also love editing photos, its just so fun! There’s something about taking pictures/editing them that’s so therapeutic and it’s definitely a stress reliever!

That’s 5 reasons why i want to be a blogger and hopefully soon i will be able to call myself a true blogger and have something to be proud of!. Thank you for reading and also thank you for all your supportive comments/tweets/dms, it really puts a smile on my face!

  1. You’re so right, there’s definitely a gap for male bloggers to fill, I’m sure more will be inspired in the future and it’ll become a bigger thing! I love meeting people too, I love knowing there’s always someone there willing to chat with me 🙂

  2. Hi! Loving your blog right now, keep going because I agree with the female dominated part! It’s so fresh to hear from a different perspective. I know you recently did a get to know me tag but I think maybe a Q&A would help us know you better and relate well! Just a suggestion 🙂

    1. hi Lucie, thank you so much for enjoying my blog so far, ill definitely do a Q&A in the near future… when more people will want to ask me questions haha x

      1. I’ll look forward to it! In the mean time if you’re lacking inspiration (from your tweets) I have a few ideas of my own that I hope to do when I create a blog:
        – Favourite place/city including favourite cafes/shops/etc to go to
        – 10 things to do before you die
        – Concert experience
        – Current fashion obsessions
        – Journal/deep stuff e.g friends, mental health,crush/boyfriends, school…(haha I know that ones weird but I feel it helps me to write things down and the blogging community is so understanding)
I hope this helps you in some sort of way, hope to see a new post soon x

  3. I love this post! And the last part, photography! I’m crap at editing but I love taking pictures and just photography in general! I definitely want to post some on my blog or something. But keep up the blogs conn! 😉

  4. Well said!

I’ve been trying to get all my photos for my blog graphics in all one same color scheme and in all some sort of matching theme. I’ve been having a hard time with it because I just can’t find the one theme for the pictures that I like. I’m just an indecisive person, so I expect this from myself, haha.
